Over 50 percent of the state’s tribal population is concentrated in Koraput, Mayurbhanja, and Sundargarh districts, with Koraput alone accounting for 25 percent of the tribal population (including present-day Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, and Malkangiri districts).
